Top 10 Restaurant Billing Software in India (2026)

We are Synexlabs, and we make one of the ten — SynexPOS. So read our entry with the scepticism it deserves. What we have not done is invent prices or weaknesses for anyone else: no competitor pricing appears below, because it changes and varies by deal, and every “what to check” applies to us too. The six checks are the useful part. Run them on all ten, including ours.

Short answer: there is no single best restaurant billing software in India — a café, a five-outlet chain and a cloud kitchen running six brands need different systems. The names most Indian restaurants shortlist in 2026 are below. What decides it is not the feature list; it is the real monthly total with your modules switched on, whether billing survives an internet cut, and how easily you can leave.

The six checks that actually separate them

Every vendor demo shows a beautiful billing screen. These are the questions that tell you what you are really buying. Take them into every demo.

1

The real monthly total

Ask for the figure with every module you need switched on — inventory, kitchen display, loyalty, reports, aggregators — plus setup, plus a second outlet. Compare those numbers, never the advertised base price.

2

The unplug test

Mid-demo, ask them to disconnect the internet. Then take an order, print a bill and send a kitchen ticket. This one test tells you more than an hour of slides.

3

Setup time and menu entry

Ask how your menu gets in. Typing 300 dishes by hand is days of someone's life. Ask whether they do it for you, and whether it costs extra.

4

GST and your accountant

GST-compliant invoices with automatic CGST/SGST/IGST split, GSTR-1-ready reports and a Tally export should be standard, not an add-on. Confirm it in writing.

5

How you get your data out

Ask whether you can export your menu, customers and full sales history yourself, any time, without asking permission. The answer tells you how hard leaving will be.

6

Who answers at 9pm on Saturday

Support hours matter more than support promises. Ask what happens when billing stops during Saturday dinner service — and ask an existing customer, not the salesperson.

The ten

Listed with who each one suits and what to verify. The order is not a scoreboard — the right system depends on your format, and the wrong one for you may be the best one for the restaurant next door.

1.

SynexPOS (Synexlabs)

This one is ours

Best for: Independent restaurants and small chains that want AI and every module included in one price

Built in Ahmedabad for Indian outlets. Six AI features ship in the base plan — menu setup from a photo of your printed menu, handwritten order-slip scanning, plain-English questions answered from your sales, smart upsell, busy-time forecasting and live cooking-time estimates. GST billing, KOT, kitchen display, QR ordering, inventory, loyalty, reports, Swiggy and Zomato are all included at a flat ₹749 per outlet per month, and a Windows desktop app keeps billing when the internet drops.

What to check: It is a newer name than most on this list. Use the 15-day free trial and put it through the same six checks below before you commit.

2.

Petpooja

Best for: Restaurants that want the widest integration ecosystem and a very widely used platform

One of the most recognisable names in Indian restaurant POS, known for the breadth of its third-party integrations and a large installed base across the country.

What to check: Confirm which modules are in your plan and which are chargeable add-ons, so you are comparing your real monthly total rather than a base figure.

3.

Restroworks (formerly POSist)

Best for: Larger chains and enterprise operators with multi-outlet reporting needs

An enterprise-oriented restaurant platform, positioned at established chains and organisations that need centralised control across many outlets.

What to check: Enterprise platforms are built for scale. If you run one or two outlets, check that the pricing and onboarding are proportionate to your size.

4.

Gofrugal

Best for: Businesses running retail and food side by side

A long-established Indian POS vendor whose product range spans retail, distribution and restaurants — useful if your billing is not purely F&B.

What to check: Because the range is broad, confirm that the restaurant-specific pieces you need — KOT routing, table management, aggregator orders — are in the edition you are quoted.

5.

Rista

Best for: Growing chains that want cloud POS with centralised menu control

A cloud restaurant POS aimed at multi-outlet operators, with central menu and reporting across locations.

What to check: Ask what happens at a single outlet when the internet is down, and how long orders queue before they sync.

6.

Sapaad

Best for: Operators running outlets in India and abroad

A cloud restaurant POS used across India and the Middle East, which matters if you operate or plan to operate in more than one country.

What to check: Confirm Indian GST handling and GSTR-1-ready reporting specifically, rather than generic tax support.

7.

QueueBuster

Best for: Owners who bill across retail and restaurant counters on one platform

A Noida-based, all-in-one platform covering billing, inventory, payments, customer credit, CRM, loyalty and reporting for retail, restaurant and service businesses.

What to check: Verify the restaurant-side depth you need — kitchen display, course-wise KOT and aggregator orders — not just the billing screen.

8.

eZee Optimus

Best for: Restaurants attached to hotels, and bars or clubs

A cloud restaurant POS from a hospitality-software company, with an offline mode and round-the-clock support, suited to restaurants, bars, QSRs and delivery operations.

What to check: If your restaurant sits inside a hotel, confirm how it connects to your property-management system.

9.

Ciferon

Best for: Independent Indian restaurants wanting a straightforward POS

An Indian restaurant POS positioned at single outlets and small operators who want billing, KOT and inventory without enterprise complexity.

What to check: Ask for a live reference in your city and format, and test the aggregator integrations you actually depend on.

10.

Vyapar

Best for: Small counters that need GST billing but not restaurant operations

A widely used Indian GST billing and accounting app. It is not restaurant-specific — there is no kitchen ticketing or table service — but for a small counter that only bills and files GST, that simplicity is the point.

What to check: If you need KOT, a kitchen display, table management or aggregator orders, this is the wrong category of tool for you.

How to shortlist in one evening

Pick three from the list that match your format. Book all three demos in the same week, so you are comparing memories that are still fresh. Ask every one of them the same six questions above, and write the answers down — vendors answer differently when they know you are recording the answer.

Then start a free trial with the two you liked, and run a real service on each. A POS that feels fine in a demo and falls apart on a Saturday night is a very expensive mistake to discover after signing.

Common questions

Which is the best restaurant billing software in India?

There is no single best one — the right choice depends on your format. A single café, a five-outlet chain and a cloud kitchen running six brands need different things. The systems most commonly shortlisted by Indian restaurants in 2026 include SynexPOS, Petpooja, Restroworks, Gofrugal, Rista, Sapaad, QueueBuster, eZee Optimus, Ciferon and Recaho. Compare them on total monthly cost with every module you need switched on, whether billing survives an internet cut, and how quickly you can leave.

What should restaurant billing software cost per month in India?

Indian restaurant POS is usually sold per outlet per month, and the advertised figure is often not the final one — setup fees, add-on modules, extra outlets and integrations are commonly billed on top. Ask every vendor for the total with the modules you actually need enabled. SynexPOS is a flat ₹749 per outlet per month with every feature included and no setup fee.

Does restaurant billing software need to work offline?

Yes, in India it does. A cloud-only system stops billing the moment the connection drops, which in most restaurants happens during the busiest hour. Ask each vendor to demonstrate it: unplug the internet mid-demo and try to take an order, print a bill and fire a kitchen ticket. Some systems keep going, some show a spinner.

Is GST billing included in restaurant POS software?

Any serious Indian restaurant POS should produce GST-compliant invoices with an automatic CGST/SGST/IGST split and GSTR-1-ready reports as standard, not as a paid add-on. Confirm that GST reports and an accounting export such as Tally are included in the quoted price.

Which restaurant POS in India has AI features?

AI is still rare in Indian restaurant POS beyond dashboards labelled as insights. SynexPOS includes six working AI features in its base plan: menu setup from a photograph of your printed menu, scanning of handwritten order slips, plain-English questions answered from your own sales data, smart upsell suggestions, busy-time forecasting and live cooking-time estimates for guests.

How hard is it to switch from one restaurant POS to another?

The switch itself is usually a day; the risk is your data. Before signing, ask whether you can export your menu, customers and full sales history yourself, in a normal format, without paying or asking permission. A vendor that cannot answer that plainly is the one that will be hardest to leave.
